PAIN

Pain is a feeling in our body which makes us irritate and feel bad. If you are ill or injured you will suffer with pain but a normal pain. But if it lasts for 3 to 4 months or may be a year then it is not normal. Long lasting pain is called chronic pain which can be dangerous if not cured.

Body can have chronic pain in any part of it. Pain could be mild and sometimes so severe that it can stand between your daily lifestyle. Many people are affected by a chronic pain in different forms such as migraine, back pain, arthritis, and others.Older people seems more likely to have a long lasting pain.

CAUSES

Chronic pain is caused by some abnormalities in our body but it not clear that what causes it.Sometimes it can be caused by the damaging of nerves or sometimes it is found that the anti-pain chemicals in our brain stops to work which causes severe pain. There is no perfect reason for the triggering of chronic pain.

Other causes of pain that worsens the chronic pain
is depression, direct light, loud noise or big disappointment.Fatal accident or trauma also causes chronic pain.

SYMPTOMS

Some symptoms of chronic pain includes:

PAIN MANAGEMENT

The subject of chronic pain management is vast...

It is also common for patients to have more than one pain and so several areas covered may be relevant to an individual.

There is a recurring theme in the treatment of pain that can be divided into the three broad categories:
  1. Pharmacological (drugs e.g. paracetamol)
  2. Physical (e.g. physiotherapy)
  3. Psychological.

The most important thing to remember is that each patient’s treatment is individualised. Pain is a 'subjective' sensation. What works for one person may not necessarily work for the next even though the diagnosis is the same.

Treatment

Normal pain can be treated at home but for chronic pain's treatment you must be consulted from doctor.Chronic pain can be reduced by doing regular exercise , eating healthy food and getting complete sleep. Maybe your doctor will prescribe you over-the-counter medicines like aspirin or ibuprofen which may help you reduce pain. Massage aslo makes you feel better.

If your pain donot disappears by these treatment you may need different treatments.Other treatments include surgery, nerve stimulation, high dose medicines and acupuncture. It is very important to consult your doctor before taking any of the treatment.

Leaving chronic as is it can be very hard.
It can also help you deal with frustration, fear, anger, depression, and anxiety. Treatment must be done for getting rid of it.Chronic pain often can be managed so that you can get on with your life and do your daily activities.

Prevention

Chronic pain cannot always be prevented.

Maintaining good physical and mental health may be the best way to prevent chronic pain or help you cope with the constant pain. It is important to get enough sleep every night. Treat your health problems early, learn to alternate activity with rest throughout each day, exercise, eat a balanced diet, and try to reduce stress in your life to prevent chronic pain from developing.
